MISS LEBANON EMIGRANT PAGEANT?

Lebanon is rich in its landscape, vibrant in its cultural and artistic endeavours, and progressive in its business ventures. On the social front, Lebanon has been spearheading many types of pageants that can be added to its list of international exchange projects. Among others, there exists a MISS LEBANON EMIGRANT PAGEANT.

The objective of this pageant is to bring women of Lebanese background living outside their homeland closer to their origins, and to foster a greater appreciation for Lebanon and its people. It is also a unique opportunity for Lebanese living abroad to come together in a unifying event to share similar experiences and challenges in an atmosphere of congeniality and sportsmanship.

Four cities (Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal) in Canada have been selected by the Miss Lebanon Emigrant Pageant in Lebanon to host a pageant in each of these cities, and to choose a representative for each city. Three representatives from Canada will then participate in the pageant in Lebanon.

WHAT IS MISS LEBANON OF OTTAWA?

Miss Lebanon of Ottawa is the event through which a pageant winner from Ottawa will be chosen to represent the Nation’s Capital in the Miss Lebanon Emigrant Pageant in Lebanon.

The Miss Lebanon of Ottawa committee is composed of artists, business entrepreneurs, public service employees, community leaders and individuals from all walks of life who are active in Ottawa’s Lebanese community. This committee functions independently of the other Canadian pageants but adheres to the same pageant conditions, rules and regulations established by the Miss Lebanon Emigrant Pageant of Lebanon.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN MISS LEBANON OF OTTAWA?

In accordance with the conditions established by Miss Lebanon Emigrant Pageant, contestants must be:

• of Lebanese background and living outside Lebanon
• aged between 17 and 27
• at least 165 cm or 5’6 feet in height
• single or divorced without children
• educated and a well-rounded individual

HOW IS MISS LEBANON OF OTTAWA CHOSEN?

Once registration forms have been screened, eligible contestants will be contacted by phone to confirm their participation. The Miss Lebanon of Ottawa committee will host a pageant gala event that will include live entertainment and special artistic performances by contestants. In the weeks leading up to the pageant, contestants will be given training in various areas of pageantry. During the pageant evening, a panel of judges chosen by the committee will decide who will represent Ottawa, and be crowned Miss Lebanon of Ottawa.

WHAT NEXT?

Once Miss Lebanon of Ottawa has been selected, she will be flown to Lebanon courtesy of the Miss Lebanon of Ottawa committee. The winner will NOT have to pay her way to Lebanon.

In Lebanon, the Miss Lebanon Emigrant Pageant committee will greet participants from around the world and treat them to a two-week all-expenses-paid pageant extravaganza. Contestants will be staying at the 5-star hotel – Sun Hills Hotel in Adma. This fabulous resort is located in the Keserwan region and faces the world class Casino du Liban.
